Description
Soweto Pimville Power Park has an interesting history. It was originally a coal-fired power station built in the 1950s to provide electricity to the apartheid-era township of Soweto. After years of operation, it was decommissioned in the 1990s.
In recent years, the site was redeveloped into a renewable energy park, featuring solar and wind power generation. This transformation showcases South Africa’s commitment to sustainable energy and reducing carbon emissions.
